Compassionate and Effective Therapy for OCD, Anxiety, and Misophonia
Therapy for children, adolescents, and adults with OCD, anxiety, and misophonia in Philadelphia and online across most of the USA.
Grounded in evidence-based approaches and personalized to clients one at a time.
I am a psychologist and researcher who specializes in therapy for children, teens, and adults struggling with OCD, anxiety, and misophonia.
I have been a therapist and trained clinicians in leading OCD centers, and also published extensively on OCD, anxiety, and misophonia in scientific journals. I teach for the International OCD Foundation Behavior Therapy Training Institute and conduct research with the University of Pennsylvania and Baylor College of Medicine.
My goal is to help you or your child live a fuller life by breaking free from overwhelming emotions, whether they are caused by intrusive thoughts, extreme sensory reactions, or both.
OCD
OCD is an emotionally painful cycle of intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors that feel out of your control. OCD can impact every aspect of a person’s life, including their school, job, family, and relationships. Effective therapy for OCD helps people break that cycle, build new habits, and reclaim their life.
Although it might not feel possible right now, you can overcome OCD.
Anxiety
Anxiety is a normal and even helpful emotion, but when it becomes constant or overwhelming, it can take the joy out of life. People might start avoiding the most meaningful parts of their life or constantly feel on edge.
Therapy can help you approach these situations with confidence and help you learn that you can handle anxiety and move through life with it.
Misophonia
It is normal to feel annoyed by sounds or visuals, but for people with misophonia, reactions to triggers like chewing, sniffing, or tapping can feel overwhelming and impossible to ignore. They can also begin to affect every aspect of life, including their family, relationships, mood, and their ability to live, work, or learn.
Although these reactions may feel totally out of your control, you can learn to cope with misophonia triggers and they do not need to run your life.
