Good Faith Estimate
Last updated: 10/20/2025
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining the expected cost of your mental health services. This law helps ensure transparency in healthcare pricing.
Your Rights
You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during your care.
The estimate will outline the typical costs of therapy services you’re considering, based on the session type, frequency, and length of treatment discussed with your therapist.
Receiving a Good Faith Estimate does not require you to start therapy or continue care.
Typical Session Fees
55-minute sessions: $250
45-minute sessions: $220
25-minute sessions: $125
Your actual total cost will depend on your unique needs, goals, and number of sessions. Most clients participate in therapy for anywhere from 2–12 months, but this can vary.
If Your Costs Differ
If you receive a bill that is $400 or more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charge. For more information about your rights, visit the official CMS page: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
