Avoiding important parts of life because of fears or worries
Struggling to let go of worries, even when you know they’re irrational
Feeling like everything has to be perfect
Trying hard to push away your worries without success
Constantly bracing for the worst
Unable to relax, even when there is nothing to stress about
Afraid you’ll get caught in a wave of panic
Missing out on family time, friendships, work, or school because you feel such a strong need to avoid anxiety
Evidence-based therapy can help you understand your anxiety and feel empowered to live a life you desire.
How therapy for anxiety works
Therapy can be incredibly helpful for children and adults struggling with anxiety. I primarily use an approach grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), an evidence-based treatment that helps you understand and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and beahvior.
A key ingredient of CBT is learning to face your fears directly instead of avoiding them or relying on short-term coping strategies that do not address the underlying issues that are keeping you stuck.
With time and practice, CBT for anxiety can help you feel more self-confident, calm, and in control. I hope you will live a life guided by your choices instead of anxiety’s.

If you or your child is open to engaging in therapy and giving it a genuine effort, it can be incredibly helpful.
Research shows that for both children and adults with anxiety disorders, about one half are in "remission" from their anxiety after CBT, or their anxiety gets to a point where it is no longer causing them major distress or impacting their lives day-to-day. For others, progress can take longer or may be ongoing, but therapy can still bring meaningful improvements in confidence and overall wellbeing.

Yes! In some way or another, parents are always part of the process. It’s natural for children to turn to their parents when they feel afraid, and just as natural for parents to want to protect them.
Because of this, I believe it’s essential for parents to be involved in therapy. Together, we’ll focus on what helps you support your child most effectively and confidently.

Everyone is different. Many people experience meaningful improvements within 2-6 months of weekly therapy. Others may benefit from longer-term support. We’ll set a plan that fits your needs and goals.
