ANDREW G M GUZICK, PHD

I am a psychologist providing in-person and online therapy for OCD, misophonia, and anxiety.

Based in Philadelphia and available across most of the United States

Feeling overwhelmed by intrusive thoughts, habits you cannot seem to break, or everyday noises that others barely notice?

My work is grounded in compassionate, practical, science-based strategies that help clients feel more confident, at peace, and ready to live the life they’re looking for.

My approach is grounded in a few guiding principles:

  • I specialize in highly focused therapy for OCD, misophonia, anxiety and related disorders. I spend nearly all of my professional time thinking about, learning about, and working with people navigating these specific challenges.

  • My approach is grounded in decades of psychological research. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), effective parent coaching models, and other scientifically supported strategies. For OCD and anxiety, I often recommend a supported, step-by-step approach to facing feared situations so clients can learn about their fears and develop self-confidence.

  • Therapy is a partnership. You (or your child) are the expert in your experience, and I bring clinical expertise in these conditions. Together, we’ll center both perspectives and develop a therapy plan that fits your unique circumstances.

  • I know how much courage it takes to open up about your mental and physical health. I work hard to make sure every client and family feels respected, heard, and supported. That includes taking the time to understand how your cultural background, family context, and personal history shape your experience.

Why clients with OCD, misophonia, or related challenges choose to work with me

Misophonia is a unique problem. So is OCD.

Most clients I work with have already sought out many solutions to these problems - lifestyle changes, trigger avoidance, medication, or therapy, but often feel disappointed by a lack of progress.

If you’re looking for compassionate support you can trust, and are ready try new ways of facing these obstacles, I hope you’ll feel at home in therapy with me.

After spending over a decade providing therapy and conducting research in world-class academic specialty clinics, I was ready for a change. I launched this practice so I could bring the lessons I learned in those high-impact settings to individual clients and families one at a time.

I draw from the most scientifically tested therapies for OCD, anxiety, and misophonia, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD. I combine these approaches with deep experience working with children and adults with these conditions. I listen carefully to your unique backstory, circumstances, and goals to ensure that I can personalize therapy to you or your family.
